It depicts a Chinese garden scene with a figure riding a horse and a second figure giving him water. The scene is surrounded by a delicately embroidered landscape composed of flowers, reeds, bamboo, a bird in flight, and pagoda-like architecture.
The design is created in soft and refined tones: golden beige, white, cream, blue, brown, pink, purple, and orange. The whole is framed by a bluish floral border, giving the composition considerable charm and depth.
The tapestry is surmounted by an antique support made of carved wood and stucco, equipped with a wall hook, allowing it to be easily hung.
A very beautiful antique decorative object, ideal for Asian decoration, a cabinet of curiosities, a boho chic interior, a collection of antique textiles or a chinoiserie ambiance.
It dates from the beginning of the 20th century.
