DetailsAntique pair of Salins-les-Bains slipware bowls, in polychrome glazed earthenware, marked under the base: "Salins les Bains – Made in France".
These two handled bowls feature a beautiful bas-relief decoration of fruit and foliage. Bunches of grapes, strawberries, plums, blackberries, and cherries are depicted in a lovely palette of green, purple, red, and orange. The interior is glazed in a bright orange-yellow hue, typical of decorative slipware.
The raised design adds considerable charm to the pieces. These bowls can be used as collector's items, decorations for antique kitchens, display pieces, or to complement a collection of French earthenware.
They probably date from the 20th century.
