DetailsAntique blackened wood table lamp from the Napoleon III period, dating from the 19th century.
Its lamp base has a hexagonal shape, mounted on a stepped molded base. The decoration is particularly original: each face is adorned with a playing card, with king of hearts, queen of spades, ace of diamonds, king of clubs, queen of hearts and ace of clubs.
The cards are framed by a painted decoration of golden scrolls, in a decorative style very typical of the Napoleon III taste: black background, gilding, fantasy, game, salon and curiosity.
The lamp is mounted with a metal rod and a socket. It works.
It has a beautiful antique patina, with numerous small imperfections, paint chips, scuffs, and losses to the black and gold decoration, particularly on the edges and base. These signs of wear are visible in the photos and contribute to the object's authentic charm.
A very beautiful decorative object for an antique interior, a library, an office, a cabinet of curiosities, a Napoleon III style decoration or a collection around the theme of playing cards.
