Pair of rare 19th-century gilt bronze wall sconces in the Louis XV Rococo style with acanthus leaves

Superb pair of antique gilt bronze wall sconces, decorated with acanthus leaves and rocaille scrolls.

These wall lights are in the Louis XV/rocaille style, with a very dynamic and elegant design. Each light has two arms, for a total of four light points for the pair.

The decoration is rich and finely crafted: large acanthus leaves, vegetal scrolls, curved lines, and sinuous arms typical of the Rococo style. The gilding has a beautiful antique patina, lending considerable charm to the whole.

These wall lights date from the 19th century. They can be used as decorative elements, for the restoration of antique lighting, or to complement a classic interior, castle, character house, living room, entrance or bedroom.

The wiring is old and will need to be redone or restored before use. The wall lights are sold as antique decorative items requiring electrical restoration.
