Small antique Japanese Eiraku Hozen plate, 19th century, Kinrande Kutani porcelain, red and gold. Diameter 9.5 cm. Rare collector's item.

Magnificent small antique Japanese porcelain plate, signed Eiraku Hozen (永樂 保全), famous 19th century Japanese ceramist.

This elegant plate features a remarkable Kinrande-style decoration, in the Kutani style, with a superb red-orange background entirely enhanced with delicate gold motifs.

The surrounding area is richly decorated with scrolls, arabesques, stylized plant motifs and gilded ornaments, forming a particularly fine and sophisticated design.

At the center of the plate is a circular blue and white medallion, made in the Sometsuke style. It features a stylized floral design painted in cobalt blue on a white background.
The contrast between the deep red, the numerous gilts and the cobalt blue gives this small plate a particularly luxurious and decorative appearance.
The border has a scalloped and wavy shape, adding even more elegance to the whole.

On the reverse, we find the Japanese signature “永樂保全” (Eiraku Hozen).
Eiraku Hozen (1795-1854), also known as Eiraku Zengoro XI, was one of the great master ceramists of Kyoto in the 19th century.
This small plate is therefore a particularly interesting piece for lovers of antique Japanese porcelain, Kyoto, Kutani, Kinrande ceramics and works by Eiraku Hozen.
