DetailsHere is a delightful pair of small antique glasses in ruby red coloured glass, with white enamel decoration made in the style of Mary Gregory (1856–1908), a famous American artist associated with childlike decorations in white enamel on glass.
Each glass is adorned with a delicately painted bucolic scene, depicting a boy and a girl strolling through a flowery landscape. The details are exquisitely rendered: stylized vegetation, the children's expressive posture, and the ethereal treatment of the ground.
These glasses, typical of the late 19th/early 20th century, in the romantic and Victorian spirit, evoke the charm of American or Bohemian glassware of that era.
