This antique piece has a flared shape with sloping sides, typical of the refined creations of the Meiji period. It is finely decorated with polychrome motifs depicting a phoenix surrounded by stylized flowers, on a white background, in a traditional Imari style.
The interior is enhanced by a discreet blue border running around the entire rim. In the center, a painted decoration depicts a flower basket in a delicate style. The base of the cup is adorned with four auspicious Chinese characters and traditional symbols (see photo), reinforcing the cultural richness of this piece.
