Superb antique Limoges porcelain compote dish, attributed to the Jean Pouyat factory, active from 1837 to 1912.

This fruit bowl, or serving bowl, features a beautiful polychrome floral decoration painted with exquisite detail. The basin is adorned with bouquets of colorful flowers, accompanied by small insects, in a highly decorative, naturalistic style typical of late 19th-century French porcelain.

The scalloped edge is decorated in relief with a rocaille motif of acanthus leaves highlighted in pale pink and gilding. The overall effect is a beautiful harmony between the luminous white of the porcelain, the delicate colors of the flowers, and the gilded accents.

The reverse bears a gold monogram and the date 1893, as well as the marks RP C and J.P. France, corresponding to Jean Pouyat in Limoges.

The enamel has a beautiful shine, the decoration is well preserved, and the gilding is still present. There may be slight signs of wear, minor soiling on the reverse, and discreet wear to the gilding, which is normal for an antique piece from 1893.
