This piece comes from the Longwy Faience Works, a French manufacturer renowned for its decorative enamels. Under the base, it bears the marking: "Longwy Faience Works since 1798 – Longwy Enamels – Hand-decorated – France", as well as the number F3359.
The bowl features a stunning, bright, crackled gold decoration with an irregular mosaic-like surface. The decoration plays with the light, giving the object a beautiful, precious appearance, somewhere between decorative art, a collector's item, and a display piece.
It can be used as a catchall, decorative dish, small centerpiece, jewelry holder or simply displayed in a collection of French earthenware.
It dates from the 20th century.
