  Beautiful Chinese basket with two compartments, made of lacquered and painted bamboo, traditionally used for wedding gifts, offerings or family ceremonies.
  
  This large decorative piece features:
  • a folk scene with figures on the lid
  • Perched birds and pomegranates (symbols of fertility and prosperity) all around the perimeter
  • an imposing curved handle
  • a Chinese signature/inscription underneath the background (see photo)
