DetailsElegant antique Chinese cloisonné enamel bowl with a polylobed neck, finely decorated on a light green background.
Made around 1900 (end of the Qing dynasty / beginning of the Republic of China), this bowl testifies to the refinement and know-how of the enamel workshops of Beijing.
The exterior features four scenes of daily life depicting geishas in garden and interior settings: elegant women holding a fan, picking flowers, or resting under a pavilion.
Each scene is framed by a delicately drawn, cloudy cartouche.
The interior, in a luminous almond green, is adorned with a rich floral decor composed of peonies, roses and morning glories in shades of pink, yellow and green, traditional symbols of beauty and prosperity in China.
The upper edge is encircled with a gilt brass band, typical of Chinese cloisonné from the late 19th century.
A piece that is both decorative and collectible, rare for its soft color and the delicacy of its decoration.
