  A superb antique statuette in white Dehua porcelain (Blanc de Chine) representing a standing Taoist immortal in a serene and wise posture. This delicate 19th-century piece perfectly illustrates the refined art of Chinese ceramics, both in its fine execution and its symbolic spirituality.
  
  The figure is sculpted from smooth, lustrous porcelain, resting on a base with a stylized wave motif, evoking harmony with the natural elements. He holds a staff in his left hand (with a small chip at the end) and a scroll in his right, symbols of knowledge and spiritual journey. The wise man sports a traditional bun on top of his head.
