  Superb antique white opaline vase with polychrome decoration of a bird on a branch, hand-painted with finesse and delicacy. It rests on a gilt bronze mount depicting stylized bamboo stems, highlighting the natural elegance of the whole. This mount is stamped "Meriden B. Company" (USA), numbered 187 and adorned with a seal in the shape of a scale, a distinctive sign of quality work from the end of the 19th century.
